Robert O. Santoro, DMD - Director
Dr. Robert Santoro has been the owner and director of Rose Dental Associates since 1985. Dr. Bob has had extensive experience with the practice of general dentistry. He graduated from New jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry in 1965 and completed an internship at Albany Medical Center in 1966.
Since that time, Dr. Santoro has practiced dentistry in Newark, New York and Oswego, New York where he owned his own private practices. He has taken numerous comprehensive graduate courses in advanced restorative dentistry. He has successfully completed programs in implant dentistry at Harvard University as well as advanced periodontics with Dr. Henry Goldman at Boston University.
Dr. Santoro is very proud to own Rose Dental Associates and loves the practice of dentistry. He particularly enjoys giving his patients a beautiful smile. He believes that looking good helps people feel better about themselves and raises self esteem.

Dr. Ronald Pierce, General Dentistry
Dr. Ronald Pierce has contributed to the success of Rose Dental Associates with his impeccable reputation, hard work, dedication and commitment. He has been with us since 1977.
Dr. Pierce adopted as his philosophy, a saying he read on a plaque in the office of the youngest Mayo brother who was a dentist. The plaque read "A healthy mouth mirrors a healthy body." Dr. Pierce enjoys helping his patients maintain their health by preserving their teeth.
Dr. Pierce received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College. He graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1970 and served his dental residency at Goldwater Memorial Hospital. He has taken numerous post-graduate courses in all aspects of dentistry and he recently completed an extensive esthetic dentistry program.
During his free time, Dr. Pierce likes bicycling and scuba diving. His goal is to one day see the Tour de France in person. His idols are Jacques Cousteau and Lance Armstrong. |

Dr. Champaka Lakshmi, General Dentistry
Dr. Champaka Lakshmi has been with us since 1980 and has played an integral part in building Rose Dental and it's fine reputation. Dr. Lakshmi prefers to be called Dr. Champa.
Dr. Champa is a graduate of Bangalore Dental College in India. After graduation she came to the United States and was licensed in Maryland and New York State in 1975. She has studied with Dr. Herbert Schilder, one of the most renowned Endodontists in the country.
Dr. Champa enjoys traveling, good food and attending Broadway shows. However, her first love is dentistry, especially esthetic dentistry. She prides herself on being the only female dentist who has been at Rose Dental for over 25 years. |

Dr. Victor Liang, General Dentistry
Since he first joined us in 1977, Dr. Victor Liang has been part of the backbone that established Rose Dental as the flourishing practice it is today.
Dr. Liang completed his undergraduate studies in Taiwan and graduated from the prestigious Case Western Reserve University in 1976. He practiced for one year in Columbus, Ohio before joining Rose Dental.
Dr. Liang reads extensively about dentistry and prides himself as being on the forefront of technology and patient care. His science and engineering background affords him a unique, analytic precision when designing bridges and crowns for his patients.
Dr. Liang enjoys classical music, and although he doesn't know how to line dance, he enjoys watching country line dancing on television. |

Dr. Alexander Choe, M.S., D.D.S. - Periodontist
Dr. Alexander Choe joined Rose Dental in 2010 and specializes in treating gum disease, implant therapy, and periodontal cosmetic surgery. He earned his certificate in Periodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle, his dental degree at the University of California, San Francisco, his Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the Columbia University in New York, and Bachelor of Science at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Choe practices with a steadfast dedication to service, a personable character, and a strong background in clinical skills. His primary goal is to offer his patients the highest quality of care and the best customer service.
Dr. Choe is a Korean born in New York, but lived most of his life time in Japan. He is fluent in three languages (English, Japanese, and Korean). Before becoming a dentist, he worked as a professional cartoonist and a baker. His interests include developing comic strips, cooking for friends, oil painting, playing soccer, web designing, and going on mission trips. He recently went to North Korea on a mission trip.

Dr. Narmin Girgis
Narmin Girgis, DDS, joined Rose Dental Associates in July 2011. She is excited to be part of our team and looks forward to using her skills for treating our patients.
Dr. Girgis began her dental career following graduation from Manhattanville College. She received her dental degree from New York University Dental School in 2006. She further enhanced her dental education during a residency program at New York Medical College. While at the Medical College, she perfected her skills in esthetic dentistry.
Dr. Girgis prides herself in being able to listen well to her patients, learning their needs and assisting them in achieving ideal dental health. Her goal is to provide dental care in a gentle and caring manner.
Children, as well as adults, feel very secure and relaxed during her treatment. It is Dr. Girgis’ belief that everyone deserves the best care while being treated in the most gentle manner.
She is especially proud of her Egyptian heritage and enjoys living in the Albany area. She and her husband, Hani Shahata, a practicing physician in Schenectady, have two active sons, Daniel and John, who occupy her full attention when not seeing patients. Baking is one of her favorite hobbies along with travel and gardening.
Dr. Girgis is actively involved in continuing education and believes that life is a journey of self improvement. |
